About Laneside Farm
Laneside Farm is a small farm on the outskirts of Meltham. It is on a quiet road with lovely views from both sides of the building. With old Yorkshire stone buildings, it is a typical farm for this area.
There are fields at the back of the property and over the road at the front are more fields which are part of the Helme village conservation area. Helme church steeple is visible peeping through the trees.
The farm itself has a small herd of the White Park rare-breed cattle which are often grazing just a minute's walk away. We also have a couple of pigs with a litter of piglets about twice a year. Come spring-time, we also raise a couple of orphaned lambs to help out otherwise too-busy sheep farmers.
Our free-range poultry is a mixture of breeds which supply eggs for breakfast.
Laneside Farm B and B has just been lovingly converted from an old stone barn into 3 bedroomed accommodation. It provides a desirable blend of rural peace and convenience for exploring the area.
