The village of Marsden is only 4 miles away and is famous for the being where the Huddersfield Narrow Canal goes through the highest, longest and deepest tunnel in Britain. The National Trust Marsden Moor provides beautiful scenery and more opportunities for outdoor pursuits. Every autumn is the Jazz Festival and spring provides the Cuckoo Day.
There is a bus stop only 5 minute's walk from Laneside Farm and a service runs every 10 minutes during the day to Huddersfield. The train station in Huddersfield is on the main trans-pennine route and will get you straight through to places such as Manchester including the airport, Liverpool, Leeds, York, Scarborough.
